The large tabby tom lead the group through Twolegplace, stepping delicately through the shadows. He made his way to the edge of the town and stopped, waiting for his tribe to gather around him. Today was the day- they'd venture into the forest, and make a new home for themselves out there. The group had been suffering may losses- the death of his father, a wave of sickness and the death of an entire litter of kits. They had rallied around Tall Pine, with his promise of a new, better life in the forest.
He kneaded the ground anxiously, excited to start moving.

Tall Pine's mate padded by his side, her auburn pelt shining in sunhigh's brilliant light. Sorrow for the loss of kits weighed heavily on her heart- she never took cats dying so young well. As a future mother herself, she couldn't imagine anything worse than losing all of one's litter. Looking down at her belly swollen with kits, Dawn Streak felt a streak of fierce protectiveness for the unborn life growing inside of her. She would do everything in her power to protect them. Glancing warmly at her mate, the future mother knew he would too.
When Tall Pine's pawsteps came to a stop, Dawn Streak turned to him with a inquisitive light in her blue-green eyes. She saw excitement in her mate, and felt her question satisfied. It was time to begin.

Echo wish had been in the back on the group nervous and anxious to head out. The young tom had witnessed many things and had lived many ways but he realized that this would be his first chance at living with others like him. He had always been a loner and always thought he'd die a loner. "This is it." He whispered to himself. He looked over at Tall pine and his mate Dawn streak. He was worried about Dawn streak's unborn kits but knowing Tall pine she'll be okay. ~~~~~~ The young she-cat had been observing each and every cat that decided to join in the group. Ember's light had seen rogues and loners, sometimes nomads, and in some cases kittypets. She was of nomad origins and had traveled far with her parents. She knew the way of the wild and often others see her as experienced. Once her parents were seperated from her, she had lost all hope of ever finding them again. She had joined Tall pine's group hoping that she can distract herself from her sorrows buy helping other cats. "I hope you're okay...wherever you are." The she-cat muttered to her parents as if they could hear her. ~~~~~~ Misty frost was a she-cat that would follow just about any cat if it means she would be treated well. She had lived as a kittypet in a nice cozy home. After her twoleg had passed away, she was afraid and ran away. She knew close to nothing of the outdoors except what her father had taught her since he was a nomad. Her mother had gone out one night and hadn't returned. Her father came to check on her often and offered her his company. The day she ran away, she had seen a group of cats joining up and helping one another. She found her father again and told him she'll go with the group of cats. He didn't like the idea but let her go. Now she stood waiting with this group of cats from different backgrounds. Her eyes shown excitement and curiosity. "This will be my life now." She whispered to herself.

Marsh breeze looked around at all the cats surrounding Tall pine. He had joined not too long ago hoping for a new life. He admired Tall pine for being the leader of this impressive group of cats. He sat down and started to groom himself while waiting to head out. "I wonder where we're going." He asked no cat in particular. ----------------------------- Silent hail was in the back of the group by himself. He liked to socialize once in a while and be with others but he just needed some time alone. The handsome young tom stood wondering where exactly they were all headed. He wasn't much of the talking-type so he didn't go ask. He had faith of finding a place to call home. He sighed and decided to daydream for a bit. "If only we were there already..." he said quietly. ------------------------------- A brown and white tom with stunning electric blue eyes had layed himeslf down to rest his paws before they start to head out. Oak dusk was always quiet and would rarely speak. Even if he did, nobody would be able to hear him only if they were right next to him. His mother was a loner and his father a kittypet. He had lived both lives but he feels more comfortable outside. He joined to finally be free and be able to have a home in the outdoors. "Let's hope everything goes okay..." he softly said to himself.

A fluffy white she cat with flame points and blue eyes followed after the group quietly. The young she cat had seen many deaths on their trip including on of her close friend. She came to a stop quietly. Light's Fire looking to Tall Pine.
Storm's Light flicked her ear. The usually small adult she cat spoke up"yeah let's hope everything goes alright"she mewed.
Spotted Leaves was quietly the tabbied ginger black and white she cat not having any words to say as they came to a stop.
Silver Breeze was one of the bigger she cats massive in size and fluffy. She glanced around quietly her massive head swinging left to right as she took in said town.

The inky-pelted tomcat pushed forwards within the group, trying to avoid eye contact with any of the other cats. Falcon's Shadow wasn't normally one to trust other felines, but had joined the group of cats for protection and support. Although the group had lost some, the leading cat had promised a better life in the forest and Falcon's Shadow was hopeful that it would be true. "I just hope we get there soon," the dual-colored mumbled under his breath. He didn't particularly enjoy walking far distances, but he'd continue on anyways if it'd mean he'd find a new life in the land they were venturing to.

Tall Pine purred as his mate padded beside him. He turned once the group was mostly gathered around him. He felt his chest swell with pride as he looked at all of them- they were his family.
"Everone, quiet please." He began. "I have promised you a new home. I have promised you a new life." He turned towards the forest and started pacing back and forth, his tail flicking. "And there is where we will start. The forest has everything we need- prey for eating, herbs for healing, trees for shelter, and clean, fresh water. We won't have to scavenge any longer, begging for scraps on the streets like common dogs." He turned back to them, his green eyes shining. "We can build a home, a tribe, out there. No longer will we be kicked at, chased and hurt. We can finally live as we were meant to be, out there!" He stopped pacing and sat down, wrapping his tail around his paws. "We will stay the night here, at the edge of Twolegplace. Tomorrow, at dawn, we will make our way into the forest, and a new start for all of us!" He stepped back, signaling the end of the meeting. Tall Pine turned to his mate, his serious expression melting into a goofy grin as the meeting broke up. "How are you feeling?" He purred.
Hawk's Wing couldn't stop smiling. Her family was finally, finally going to be safe. Tall Pine certainly knew how to turn a crowd- she felt a swoop of hope run through her belly at the mention of a safe place and a full meal. The gray tabby cheered with the rest. Tomorrow was another day, and hopefully the start of a new life.

Dawn Streak felt like the luckiest she-cat in the world as her mate motivated their to-be tribe members. They were worn and weary from moons of travel, but Tall Pine's speech had rejuvenated everyone's spirit. He had a natural gift to lift the trodden emotions of others and inspire them. Her sister's smiling face shimmered into mind, his gift both something he and her precious sibling possessed. Her heart sorely missed her sister that passed away to this day, but her love for Tall Pine helped her brave her grief to this day.
At Tall Pine's playful look on his face, Dawn Streak couldn't help the purr happily in return. "Hopeful," she replied, looking up at him joyfully. Everyone's excitement was contagious. "I'm glad that I'm starting a new life with you."

Little Willow stood in the group crowded around Tall Pine. They would be safe. No more hateful, mouse-brained twolegs. No more depending on them for their scraps. They could depend on the forest for food now. The forest had plenty, and they would be happy there. An excited smile crossed her delicate features as she listened to Tall Pine. He always knew what was best, and he always knew how to make everyone feel confident in whatever they were doing. Little Willow knew they could do this, and she was anxious to start her new life in the forest.
Muddy Flame padded to sit behind Tall Pine as he began speaking to them. His tail tip flicked impatiently as told them that they would travel to the forest the next day. He didn't understand why they had to stand around doing nothing, when they could be on their way to their new home. He was tired of all the talk of how great their new home was gonna be. He was ready to actually see it, and breath in it's fresh forest air. Letting out a sigh of annoyance, he began grooming his dark brown fur.

The blue point cat followed the rest of the group of the cats, looking at the "leader" with skepticism. It was true that Tall Pine guided them to this place, where the forest seemed so close but Ice's Stone doubted his skills as a leader, especially because of his relationship with Dawn Streak. He was so focused on his kits that the Laperm cat doubted that he would care about all these. For now, he would follow him but he hoped that in the future... a new leader would appear.
~~~~~~
Crow's Flight walked awkwardly among the cats around him. Even if he was traveling with all them since a long time, he was too shy to feel comfortable. But he liked Dawn Streak. She always seemed so nice and kind so the tom never felt bad or nervous around her. The black and white cat glanced at the two cats, Tall Pine and Dawn Streak a bit jealous. He also wished to have a loving mate to care for but... he wasn't good talking to she-cats. With the arrive of a new and permanent home maybe he could find someone... At least that was he wished...
Ivy Fall couldn't wait to start a life in the forest. She knew that she could trust the group of cats after being separated from her parents. The kit missed her parents dearly, wondering where they went, but Ivy Fall decided to stay with the group. She trusted Tall Pine and the rest of the cats as they helped her learn how to survive in Twolegplace. The monsters and the dogs scared the poor she-kit as she believes that the forest will provide a more peaceful lifestyle. Despite her successes, Ivy Fall wasn't feeling happy recently from the death of her friends. As one of the surviving kits, Ivy Fall wished she could've done something to help her friends. The she-kit hoped that the forest provided healing supplies for future cats who face death. Letting out a sombre sigh, the calico she-kit followed Tall Pine to the edge of Twolegplace, barely visible from the larger cats surrounding her.
Frozen Pool had been padding along with the rest of the cats. He often wondered why he even joined them to begin with, they were gross and way too talkative. When Tall Pine made his announcement, he couldn't help but shake his head pessimistically. If he thought that they could really survive in an organized fashion,then he was even more mouse-brained than the rest of them. And what would they eat out there? Dead animals were even more disgusting than twoleg garbage. And who was Tall Pine to claim leadership already? Didn't he think someone else might want that role as well? That was a war just waiting to happen in his opinion. But he had survived with this group so far, and he was too stubborn to back out.
