Stripe was having a bad day. Again. As if having two kit without being fed her share wasn't enough, Ernest was having a bad night for another time. Ever since he and Alice had started yelling at each other and he kicked Alice out, things hadn't been the same. Though she still hadn't been fed enough, at least Alice was nice to her. Now, the young mother wasn't sure if she would survive living here. Suddenly a glass bottle hit the floor, shattering into pieces, a few tail-lengths ahead of her. The she-cat jumped into the air, fur fluffed up, curling protectively around her kits. The air was full of the awful scent of the chemicals Ernest drank, and Stripe was just barely able to avoid vomiting. When the twoleg started walking towards her, bellowing in the weird tone he had these nights, she unsheathed her claws and hissed, fearing her life. He raised up his hand as if to hit her, until he turned his head to the metal box that sometimes talked. He started yelling at it, and the striped she-cat sighed with relief. She lay around her kits until another bottle flew, hitting the window. The nights where he had three were even worse. Stripe saw the broken window and knew what she had to do. She gingerly lay one kit on her back and grabbed the other by the scruff, and jumped onto the chair. She climbed up various objects until she reached the window. Then she heard Ernest shout, and he ran towards her. Without thinking, the mother leaped out of window, landing in the bushes less than a tail-length below. Though her legs were scratched and bleeding from the broken glass and bushes, her kits were fine, so she ran until she collapsed. Looking up, she saw there was only one more yard until the houses gave way to woods. "We're safe, kits."

Raccoon blinked up at his mother, auburn eyes wide. "Mama, where are we going?" He asked, voice filled with curiosity. He stood close to her, ready to follow wherever she decides for them to go. The blue-grey kit trusted her with all her heart to take them somewhere better than the house with the angry two-leg that yelled at the talking black box and threw bottles that hurt a lot.
(He'll get his tribe name once they join)

(Sorry sorry) Snow stood beside her mother her amber eyes wide as she glanced around her. "Mama..I'm scared." Her voice was full of fear. She trusted her mother beyond words but she didn't like the emptiness of outside. It felt like eyes were staring at her through the darkness. She buried her head onto her mothers pelt she would rather go back to the angry twolegs then to be outside. But she had to be brave if not for herself then her brother and mom.

Stripe managed to haul herself to her feet. Though she wanted to just lay there for a while, she had to be strong, for the sake of her kits. Speaking of kits, they had some questions that she needed to answer. She looked down at them warmly. "Don't worry my kits, I won't let anything hurt you," she assured Snow, then turned to Racoon. "We are going to the forest, and we are never returning to our former home. The forest will be safer." She didn't know that for a fact, but anything seemed safer than the twoleg den. As dangerous as the forest may be, she would take it all on in a heartbeat to protect her kits. Determinedly, she started herding her kits towards the forest, not having the strength to carry them anymore.
