The tom moved between the shadows of the pines, looking for any close prey. With the arrival of the Time of the Frozen Water, he had to hunt more, especially with four extra cats who wasn't able to hunt. However, he didn't dislike the extra work. The Sharpclaw enjoyed the lonely hunting patrols like he used to do because he was able to relax and test his skills. But... even if the soft needles under his paws were comfortable and the safety of the trees was a blessing... he wanted to stop being a cat under the control of a leader he didn't respect. He knew that probably his parents would be disappointed but they were dead now and he had to take his own decisions. Tall Pine wasn't the cat he used to be and other cats were better than him to lead like that rogue cat called Rock. Maybe one day, he would be the leader of the Tribe but for now, he had to focus on survival.
Ice's Stone smelled the air, searching for prey and soon found the scent of a rodent. He crouched, ready to start walking toward that little animal when his ear flicked by the sound of some needles breaking behind him, hiding in some bushes that were some steps further than his body. The blue point cat didn't have time to even smell the newcomer because of the danger that he could be attacked in no time. So, after thinking as fast as he could, he turned his body swiftly and jumped into the bushes, ready to fight anyone that could be there. However, when his blue eyes gazed the white pelt of his tribemate, he sheathed his claws back, letting out an annoyed growl. "What were you trying to do by following me so quietly? Whatever, you don't have to answer that. Just... let me hunt in peace and I will let you do the same by your side." He growled, turning his body and stepping away from the she-cat with the green eyes to search for a new prey since the mouse escaped after all the noise.

Snow Pond bristled slightly. "I wasn't following you. You just happened to be going the same way I was," she said, an uncharacteristic annoyance in her voice as she spotted a squirrel not too far away. She paused, debating her chances, and chose to attempt it. She crouched, slowly approaching, and pounced successfully, much to her surprise. She purred happily as she delivered a single bite to the rodent's neck, and glanced back at her Tribemate. "That," she said, arrogance creeping into her voice to replace the fading irritation, "is how it's done." Quieter, but clearly still meant for him to hear, she added, "And, did you consider, perhaps I wanted to get to know you a little better?" It was true, after all - she wanted to get to know all of her Tribemates, and hopefully be on friendly terms with most, if not all of them. She was well aware that this wasn't the best start to that end, but the tom had simply assumed she was following him. It really was coincidence they were taking the same path to hunt.

The Sharpclaw looked at the she-cat with cold, annoyed eyes. It was a strange coincidence that two cats were hunting in the place of the forest without a previous plan so he didn't think of that as a good possibility. When he was about to answer, the she-cat suddenly crouched and the tom didn't understand why until he saw the squirrel not far from both of them. He stayed quiet, without moving so his tribemate would be able to catch it like she did. Even if he was still annoyed by her interruption, Ice's Stone knew that it was better for the Tribe to have more prey.
Once she caught the squirrel, he approached her, with a less angry expression. "I admit that you're also pretty good at hunting, Snow Pond." He complained, looking down at the squirrel that she just caught. He couldn't deny her skills and because of that, he knew that he was also a valuable member of the Tribe. The Sharpclaw didn't expect the next question and just turned his blue gaze away from her as he started walking away, slowly. "Ha! It's impossible that a cat would be interested in knowing better and if he or she does then it is mad. I'm not a friendly tom because I don't think that friendship had some real value in my life. Of course, I care for my Tribe though, but I'm not interested in befriending my tribemates and they aren't interested in me neither because of my coldness and emotionless personality." As he said that words, he crouched like he did before, watching a bird that just flew and landed on a rock without noticing them at all because the bushes hid their bodies. Taking the advantage, Ice's Stone leaped and caught the dove with his open jaw, killing it instantly because of the strength he used on that catch. He returned to the she-cat, leaving the prey under his paws and looked at her, coldly. "So, no. I've never considered the minimal possibility that you could want to know me and after that rough and rude meeting we had, I doubt you would want to stay any longer around me."

"Well then, you're wrong," Snow Pond declared. "You can't care for someone without knowing them." As he continued, she followed after him. If she wasn't following him previously, she certainly was now. "Call me mad, then. Friendship is valuable in anyone's life, regardless of what you think." If there was one thing you could say about Snow Pond, it was that she was persistent, and she wasn't about to give up just yet. She did pause so he could catch the dove without her distraction, but then continued. "And yet, I do want to spend my time around you, so what do you say to that?" she asked, tilting her head despite him not looking at her.

The Sharpclaw just let out a little hiss as he turned his head to the white she-cat. "Well then, you're crazy. Listen to me: nobody likes me as a friend because is hard for me to find someone I like. Let's just say that I don't see a logical purpose on creating bonds that don't give benefits to my only family, the Tribe. That's why I only admire one cat in the clan and no one else is my friend or something like that. Call me emotionless or cold, I don't care at all. You must be out of your mind if you want to be with me but..." He stopped his word, giving her a less annoyed expression and a more comprehensive and, really hid friendly eyes. "I must say that is strange to me that a cat would be even interested in my existence and I can't say that it's completely uncomfortable. You might be out of your mind but I admire your courage, Snow Pond. If you wanna give me company during my hunting patrol, then go ahead because I won't stop you anymore." Once that was said, Ice's Stone started walking, leaving his prey in a hidden spot so he could grab it later, ready to start to search new prey that he could bring back to camp. Even if he was more stubborn than a mule, he somehow hoped that the she-cat would follow him for a while. He was curious about what she said before about friendship and wanted to test something with her now that a doubt started growing in his head after her words.

Unable to read her fellow Sharpclaw, Snow Pond's curiosity was rising. She had to follow him further now! "Well, then I wear the titles proudly," she stated, raising her head high. "I'm nobody, and crazy!" Her eyes widened as he said he admired her courage, and she lifted her head even higher. "Lots of new things are strange at first," she offered casually. "Forming a Tribe at all was stranger to me, but I got used to it." She was just glad he was more accepting of her presence now. "Even if you admire only one cat, it means you must care on some level, don't you think?" Though admiring only a single Tribemate made no real sense to Snow Pond, she was making an effort to understand Ice's Stone's thoughts, at least. She saw the skills of each of her Tribemates, and was happy to have their skills in addition to her own. They had to work together to stand a chance here, after all.

Ice's Stone blinked surprised when she called herself crazy and as a nobody. The serious warrior would have smirked if he wasn't so expressionless. This she-cat was really something... she was brave, reckless and bold. She wasn't afraid of saying what she thought, even if she could be annoying. However, despite he still was a bit angry because of her last responses... he started to like her.
The blue point cat listened to the white she-cat as he walked, searching for more prey. His ears flickered when she asked him a question of what she just said. He looked at her from the corner of his blue eyes and nodded slowly. "Like I said before, I care for my Tribemates, Snow Pond, so I agree with what you just said. They're my family but... I'm not so close to them because of who I am. I'm not going in life making tons of friends because I prefer to only have a few of them but that would fight for me to death as well as I would do for them. Right now, I cannot seem to find any cat with those characteristics, except for Rock. He is the only cat which I'm close, but still, I don't think we're friends. I just try to keep living doing my duties and responsibilities; I don't think so much about bonding." He said with a deep and plain voice, waiting for the next answer of his tribemate.

"If you don't bond with them," Snow Pond began, "I wonder how you will find the few who will fight to the death for you." She was slightly more somber now, though not by much - there was still a sparkle in her eyes, and a tiny hint of amusement in her voice. "However... I can respect not wanting to be friends with everyone, although I don't understand it. Still, if no effort is made, those select few you can call friends will likely never be found." She fell silent again, waiting for his response. She found herself quite enjoying this conversation, particularly how she was learning more about the fairly quiet tom.

OCC: So sorry for my delay IC: The cold-hearted tom listened to the she-cat's words with deep attention as he walked by her side. When he first saw her, the Sharpclaw thought that she was one of those stupid and naive cats that only do friends to not be alone. However... she wasn't stupid at all. Her words were full of intelligence and had good arguments. His eyes glanced at her without losing any detail of her expression or moves, trying to understand her way of act better. "I'm glad that you respect my choice of not wanting to be friends with every cat I meet and I must say that you said some things that were actually correct." The curly haired cat took a deep breath, before talking again about the reasons for his choice. "It's not like I don't talk to anybody or try to bond. I used to put my efforts in finding real friends that would be willing to die for me as well as I would do for them. But... not every cat is destined to be friends with the ones he wants to. Most of my tribemates, when I was younger, didn't like me too much because I'm way too honest about everything. Cats don't like honesty... they don't like to see the reality how it is especially when it looks bad. I used to say some harsh things that were true and that makes me a cat that no one wanted to be near. That's why I stopped trying to bond... There was and is no use for trying to get something that here... in the tribe... is impossible for me. I'm still trying to find cats that share my thoughts of truth and honesty over everything... that's why I like Rock." Ice's Stone finished talking, looking away from Snow pond to glance a pair of doves sitting in a pine's branch. He wondered... if one day he would find someone close to him... a friend that would understand his way of thinking.
